    Spring Has Sprung
    Dear Ruth,
Everytime I start yakking about something fun I’ve done, inevitably someones says, “Oh, I wish I’d known about that.” or “I wanted to go to that and forgot!”  So, I think I’ll make a stab at doing a bit better with heppen (that’s right I said “heppen” which means helping but not so pious and self righteous, as if you need my help, get me?).
So, in that spirit I saw the Katherine Hepburn Dressed for Stage & Screen Exhibition of her personal costume collection.  Stunning!  If it sounds at all interesting to you, GO!
Also, our very own, Georgianne Reagan, Omaha Community Playhouse’s costume designer’s work is also on display at the Durham.  It is a wonderful and well deserved tribute to an extremely talented artist who has served the playhouse for over twenty years.
    African Violet Show
I almost hate to mention this because the ship has sailed but at Mulhalls Nursery last weekend the Violet Show was held and I caught the bug even worse!  You could actually BUY the show winners…what could I do?  I could not pass up an opportunity like that, it would just be wrong…wouldn’t it?  Thank you.  That’s what I thought.  Although I must admit that when I now walk into my sweet sunshine yellow living room with a sky blue ceiling I think I may be edging pretty close to having the most “tricked out grandma house” in all the land.  I can live with that. xo
    The Dakota 38
I will be attending this next Tues.
Tuesday, March 31st at the Milo Bail Student Center Nebraska Room @ 6 p.m.  This documentary film remembers the 38 Natives who were hung in the largest mass
execution in the U.S. on December 26th 1862.  The execution took place in Mankato, Minnesota.  The film follows Native Americans on a journey from South Dakota to Mankato as a remembrance.   This event is free and open to the public.  It is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs and The Circle of Grandmothers.  Special guest speakers will be Pat Lamere and Andre Nunez.
     Rest, Relax, Renew
My Studio is now offering the 10:30 Saturday morning class by donation.  It is awesome…if I do say so myself.  Some folks say they are finding it to be the most relaxing hour of their week.
No movement, just lying quietly (or seated in a chair) being taken on a guided visualization that will rejuvenate your Spirit.  The nidra is equal to 3 hours of restful sleep.
If you know someone who has lost a loved one, suffers from the symptoms of PTSD, insomnia, or is recovering from cancer or other physical or mental trauma please refer them to this class. Or…to just “get away” from it all for a bit this is the place to “get to.”  It is a donation only class so no budget restrictions will stand in the way.  Please come and invite others to come, as well.
See you there, Saturday morning 10:30 a.m.
If you don’t have a FB page maybe you could forward this to others who do?  And ask them to “Like” us.  Our newsletter is a great way to get the news out about My Studio so please feel free to forward it to anyone you think might enjoy it, well, this one is a bit of a snoozer but sometimes they’re” funner”…send one of those!
Thank you so much for your kind support.             With Love & Namaste, Ruth
